Happy Birthday, Patti Smith (just a day younger than Marianne, she is 63)! Patti is one of my favorite female rock stars. She's brilliant, hilarious, and totally unique. Her version of Dylan's "Changing Of The Guards" from her 2007 covers album, Twelve, is one of my top five favorite songs EVER recorded - seriously, listen to it. It's amazing. Patti could hang with the best of them, and while she had her own songwriting talent and made it as an iconic singer, she was such a fangirl at heart, which is something I've always found so compelling. She loved the Stones, and wrote poetry about Anita and Marianne.
I wish I had more of my old Hit Paraders, Creems, and Circus' laying around, but the ten or so I had at the office gave me these pictures of '70s Patti. Enjoy!

This blog is dedicated to Stones goddesses Marianne Faithfull and Anita Pallenberg, whose beauty and strength I find limitlessly inspiring (and whose photos I've spent thousands of dollars collecting and hundreds of hours scanning, so please, read the disclaimer at the bottom of the page, and don't re-post them without credit). This means you, Pinterest, Tumblr, etc., people.
