Angie Bowie

I never found Angela Bowie's androgynous looks all that appealing, but there was something glittering and wonderful about her and David in the early to mid 70's, wasn't there? I haven't read her books yet, but she has always struck me as an ultimately tragic figure, which is perhaps why I find something intriguing about her life. She met David Bowie when she was 19 and spent her young adult life traveling around with him and being his female counterpart of sorts, but never really attained any real fame or celebrity by her own merits. Maybe it's the song "Golden Years" (which always makes me want to burst into tears), written about her, that seems so heartwrenching. Alas. Enjoy these scans, and please credit if you repost. <3

Sixties It-Girl: Pattie Boyd

Quite possibly my favorite picture of her. I scanned this from Goodbye Baby & Amen, a big book published in 1969 by David Bailey. His photos were incredible:

Another rare find. This was scanned from Michael Cooper's suberb photo book Blinds & Shutters. Pattie (far left) is seen here on the set of the photo shoot for the Sgt. Pepper's album cover. Michael Cooper is in the middle, smiling, beside the Beatles:

Thank God Tumblr suspended their blog again. Whoever runs that blog continually takes every one of my pictures and posts them there, with absolutely no credit. I hate to be a pain in the ass, but it's just rude. If you linked to my site, it would be one thing, but nope.

Hello to the few readers that have stumbled upon my pointless little time waster known as a blog. I am a 26-year-old girl (it's 2017) raised and living on the outskirts of Washington, D.C. (hardly the site of excitement). Inspired by my soul sista, "I'm From Rolling Stone"'s Krystal Jagger Simpson, who ran a terrific blog called "What Is Reality Anyway?"--and who is now a model and musician--I joined Blogger. I'm a writer by trade (okay, it's just a hobby), but my other huge, obsessive, heart-throbbing passion is rock n' roll music, and everything about it. From the age of 15, when I bought Guns n' Roses's landmark masterpiece, Appetite For Destruction, my world has never quite been the same. I love learning new things, eating, New York City (where I hope to one day live), traveling, meeting new and interesting people, and expressing myself via writing and art. By day, I work in an office. :-) I hope that one day I acquire the discipline needed to run a really successful blog, but until then, I'll consider this a boredom-curer and opportunity to share my passion (and collection of rock n' roll pics that I've scanned and wasted many tens of thousands of dollars on) with some people who hopefully feel the same! After all, and I mean this not to be self-deprecating, I can't imagine that there are too many people in the world who are dying to hear my thoughts on things like Stones goddesses Anita Pallenberg (Rest in Peace) and Marianne Faithfull and their loss of identity in the misogynist world of rock 'n' roll in the late '60s.

Oh, and fuck Donald Trump.
