Girl in a box

One of the greatest photoshoots of Marianne I've ever seen! I was so pleased to get this magazine (an issue of Mlle Age Tendre from '67). Hope you guys love these as much as I do!!! If you'd like to have the image larger (my orig. scanned file), just send me an e-mail.

all photos = my scans

PS, I promise, a Performance post is coming soon!! Probably Friday.

Thank you again for cleaning this up, Luna!

Some more Marianne. Enjoy!

Special thanks to Child of the Moon (Ms. Luna) for editing a couple of the above photos for me (they had big creases across the center). Check out her amazing blog at: http://iamthechildofthemoon.blogspot.com/

Letting It Bleed...

"She said, 'My breasts, they will always be open
Baby, you can rest your weary head right on me
And there will always be a space in my parking lot
When you need a little coke and sympathy.'"

--The Rolling Stones's Let It Bleed title track, 1969
-------------------------
Hello to the few readers that have stumbled upon my pointless little time waster known as a blog. I am a 26-year-old girl (it's 2017) raised and living on the outskirts of Washington, D.C. (hardly the site of excitement). Inspired by my soul sista, "I'm From Rolling Stone"'s Krystal Jagger Simpson, who ran a terrific blog called "What Is Reality Anyway?"--and who is now a model and musician--I joined Blogger. I'm a writer by trade (okay, it's just a hobby), but my other huge, obsessive, heart-throbbing passion is rock n' roll music, and everything about it. From the age of 15, when I bought Guns n' Roses's landmark masterpiece, Appetite For Destruction, my world has never quite been the same. I love learning new things, eating, New York City (where I hope to one day live), traveling, meeting new and interesting people, and expressing myself via writing and art. By day, I work in an office. :-) I hope that one day I acquire the discipline needed to run a really successful blog, but until then, I'll consider this a boredom-curer and opportunity to share my passion (and collection of rock n' roll pics that I've scanned and wasted many tens of thousands of dollars on) with some people who hopefully feel the same! After all, and I mean this not to be self-deprecating, I can't imagine that there are too many people in the world who are dying to hear my thoughts on things like Stones goddesses Anita Pallenberg (Rest in Peace) and Marianne Faithfull and their loss of identity in the misogynist world of rock 'n' roll in the late '60s.

Oh, and fuck Donald Trump.

Xxxxoooo,

Leith

Disclaimer:

Unless otherwise stated, I have not taken, nor do I own the rights to the photos that appear on this blog. Since about July 2009, every photoI post on this blog is my PERSONAL SCAN from a photo, book, magazine, or other publication that I have purchased. The sole purpose of posting these photographs is to communicate a certain message, feeling or idea that corresponds with an entry, and to share my collection with fellow fans. If you have taken any of these photos and would like credit or their removal, please contact me. Conversely, buying and scanning these photos has taken copious amounts of my time and money (literally, I have spent thousands and thousands). Feel free to save any that you fancy (I usually resize them for the blog, but if you'd like the full, big versions, just ask) but please do NOT re-post them on another site (i.e, Tumblr, etc) without crediting this blog. Seeing people post photos that I've spent all this time scanning and claiming them to be their own is really shitty and makes me not want to continue doing a blog. These photographs are not for commercial use. Thank you for your courtesy.
