Making Music

(All images -- scans by me from various publications. Taken by Gered Mankowitz)

I really love these photos of Mick and Marianne in the studio, they're such intimate portraits. She looks so fragile and timid about the recording process, and you can tell he actually cares and is helping her. And that hat!

ok, how can you say you love anita so much when you don't even know her birthday? i'm not trying to criticize your blog, i LOVE the pics you put up, they're amazing, but EVERY SINGLE source i've ever seen has stated anita's birthay as jan 25, 1944, NOT april 6 or whatever you have...

I know, that's what I thought too. But then I read from what I think is a pretty reputable person in terms of knowledge of Anita that the January 25 birthday was just something that got spread around the net, and that her real birthday is April 6, confirmed by Marlon Richards, her son.

So, technically, I don't know. I'd love it if she WAS an Acquarius!

Also, I've read in multiple Stones books that she was born January 25, 1942 too, but I'm pretty sure it's 1944. She's a big mystery.

really? that's interesting. even in books about Keith it says the january one. How can people call themselves biographers of Keith Richards when they don't even know his first wife's birthday? i'm an aquarius too so that'd be pretty awesome. well, thanks for the info!

hello beautiful lady! i love your blog! discovered it through a comment on mine and im happy i did so, inspirational for sure. we do seem to have a lot in common, a deep love for the 60's and 70's is enough for me to already love a person. Anita has been my number one idol and inspiration (actually number two, after brian jones) for a long time now, i find myself having daydreams about their shared racks of clothes gathered in morocco and ossie clark/biba they had on courtfield road, and would for sure love to read the white goddess aloud with marianne and anita back in the day.

Do you know anything about stash de rola? He is one of the background figures of the stones group of friends, a prince, alchemist and son of painter balthus. I read a short but facinating piece on him a while back, if you are interested i could scan it and send it over, he actually was the first person marianne cheated on mick with haha.

and about anitas birthday, i heard she changed the information in basically every interview back in the day, maybe 25th was the one that stuck but i would go with marlons facts. or maybe its because im an aries haha.

sorry for getting way too excited but its not very often that i stumble upon people who are really into these things (in real life or online), but feel free to ignore :)
